I do not remember the name of the seminar or the instructor or whether it was junior or senior year of college.
I DO remember her words: Live so as to work yourself out of your job.
Whenever I look back over my life, I realize I took those words to heart.
Every position I've held, I have used to share knowledge, share resources, share encouragement.
When you look back over your life, what words have made an impact on you and on your life? Unlike me, perhaps you also recall the person's name.
I invite you to share the words that influenced you. I'd love to hear them.
PS. Marlo Thomas wrote a book, The Right Words at the Right Time, which is sort of on point but not exactly; I wasn't looking for guidance, but it came nonetheless.
Then again, maybe they were words at the right time--even for me!
Old Oak also has just the right words for Little Pumpkin, in my upcoming children's picture book, Old Oak and Little Pumpkin, for all little pumpkins ages 3-8.
